WHAT'S HAPPENING AROUND THE DISTRICT //

One of Cache County School Districts main platform for informing the public is through articles that are written and posted on the districts home page under the section titled, "What's Happening Around the District?".  Once the articles are written and posted on the districts site, the article is pushed out onto every school within the districts homepages as well. I currently have 16 articles on the website. My articles are listed below. Click the article you wish to read.

CACHE VALLEY FAMILY MAGAZINE //

Cache Valley Family Magazine (CVFM) is a local magazine in Cache County. The magazine contains relevant articles for the community. The CVFM reserves a page in each quarterly edition for the district. For the November fall edition, I had the opportunity to write and design an article based on giving parents homework help tips to help them better help with students with homework. The article was published in the CFVM. Each student in CCSD receives a magazine and takes it home to their parents.

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL PR KIT //

In a weekly PIO meeting both my bosses expressed their concern that the internally and externally the communication within the district and how the PIO was being perceived; wasn't too pleasant. The PIO has only been an office in the district for two years and not everyone understood who they could use the office and the resources offered. I remembered writing and learning about PR Kits. I brought up the idea. They loved it and let me run with it. Below is the final internal and external PR Kit that has been distributed to each principal and admin within the district. From there they are taking the information to each of their schools staff.

The internal and external kits include backgrounder, contact information, info-graphics, and fact sheets. My boss created the fact sheet so that sheet is not displayed on my site.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT //

In August 2018, the district moved from the old district building to a new building. At the start of this move the Superintendent (Supt) wanted to help inform the public. We posted on social media, created a flyer with both district building offices informing the move and explaining what departments were at each building since the district is still going to use both buildings. We posted the information on our website as well. The Supt then asked for an PSA to be wrote and aired on local radio stations. Both my bosses didn’t know where to start. In our meeting I informed them that I had recently learned about PSA's and have written a couple for my schooling. They asked if I could write a couple up and then run it by them. I wrote up a couple in different lengths and time increments and then ran it by them. I also reached out and tracked down and contact KUTV and set up a time for the Deputy Supt, Jenda, and I to come down to record the PSA. We went down and the Deputy Supt read the PSA and was recorded. The recording was then distributed across the local radio station.

THE PSA //

Hi, This is Deputy Superintendent Mike Liechty from the Cache County School District. As the new school year approaches, we would like to make parents and students aware that many of the district office services have moved to our new building, located at 84 East 2400 North in North Logan. The other services will remain at the original district office building, which has been renamed the Legacy Campus. For more information on the location of departments and services, please visit the Cache County School District website at ccsdut.org
