The Center for Women and Gender’s presents is the strongest and most prevalent on Facebook than on other social media platforms. In September 2017, 715 page likes started the semester off and has grown to 759 page likes by December 2017. We also gained 52 new followers. Our goal with Facebook was to bring awareness to their mission and cause. People need to understand what the CWG does, what they stand for, and important information on campus and world events. Facebook was used to promote current and upcoming events to increase awareness and get involvement with the center and its audience. The content campaign posted included Wonder Women Wednesday, Gender Equality Tip Thursday, and Feminist Friday were used to increase awareness on gender equality.  Through these post, Facebook’s audience likes and reach increased and we hope it will continue to grow.

 

OCTOBER 2017 //

The month of October started out slow with the implementation of the campaigns outlined in our business plan. It took a couple days for the audience to interact but once they did our likes stayed around 0-2 a post and the reach was inconsistent. The last week of October was the high of the month with both post content being centered on getting consent, a promenade topic in the news.

NOVEMBER 2017 //

​

The month of November really struggled with engaging the audience at the beginning. Both the likes and reach were consistent and low. This changed with a huge spike in likes on November 20th and then the rest of the month seemed to be a bit higher than earlier. Another spike in both reach and likes took place around the thanksgiving holiday.

DECEMBER 2017 //

​

For the month of December only one week worth of post are accounted for. From this week, the post likes have stayed high since the end of November. The organic reach has dropped but the paid has reached higher levels but have mirrored the same pattern of reach as the organic.
